Grade 1 Method Presentation
This Grade 1 exercise workbook is part of the “Arc-en-ciel” collection. The latter is based on the mixed reading method. Starting with the global method, letters and syllables are combined to build new words.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 1 is based on the following methodological principles:
- Oral comprehension and expression: the many exercises encourage children to express themselves orally.
- An abundance of illustrations: attractive and colorful images strengthen comprehension and encourage oral expression.
- Children’s active participation: interactive activities stimulate children’s interest and engagement.
- Regular assessments: these pages allow the tracking of children’s progress.
This collection is a comprehensive method to learn French. It comprises the following four components: a reading textbook, two exercise workbooks, and a writing copybook. This collection also comes with 10 storybooks.
Exercise Workbooks
The two exercise workbooks (Exercise 1 and Exercise 2) extend the Reading textbook for Grade 1. They focus on developing and assessing vocabulary skills, as well as oral and written comprehension and written expression. These two workbooks include a variety of vocabulary, phraseology, and writing exercises. Evaluation pages are also provided to assess students’ progress and identify the points that need to be reviewed and strengthened before the end of the year.
