The Grade 1 Method Presentation
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 1, with its reading textbook, is based on the mixed reading method. Right from the start, letters and syllables are combined to build new words.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 1 is a comprehensive method for learning French. It comprises the following components: a reading textbook, an exercise workbook, and a writing copybook. Additionally, this method comes with 10 storybooks.
Reading Textbook
The “Arc-en-ciel” reading textbook for Grade 1 includes 10 themes. Each theme is divided into three parts:
- First, there are pages devoted to oral expression. They extend prior oral learning, in particular through the stories that serve as motivation and introduction to the theme.
- Next, there are pages devoted to reading lessons, whose objective is to teach the French graphemes.
- Finally, there are review pages to test the learning objectives.
The reading textbook provides, in lessons 1 to 13, a comprehensive review of what has been learned in KG3. Therefore, these lessons should be tackled quickly.
The textbook also includes song and rhyme lyrics, as well as socialization awareness materials.
A QR code is integrated into the first page of the textbook. Children can thus listen to:
- Stories (with text, sound effects, and music).
- Songs and rhymes whose lyrics can be found in the book.
