This Grade 6 reading textbook is part of the Tremplin vers le français collection.

The Tremplin vers le français collection is a comprehensive method of learning French. It covers all Elementary classes. This method is an extension of our methods for Nursery Classes. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices learned in Kindergarten are reframed and extended.

Tremplin vers le français for Grade 6 is based on the following methodological principles:

• A strong emphasis on knowledge of Morocco, Moroccan civilization, the local and regional environment, and awareness of national values.
• A strong emphasis on oral communication, with numerous varied sessions dedicated to oral expression.
• Class projects that encourage group work, interdisciplinary learning, cultural awareness, and the completion of various shared activities.
• Short and engaging texts that present complete stories and are perfectly suited to the children’s linguistic and psychological development.
• A comprehensive range of text types: narrative, informative, descriptive, explanatory, instructional, argumentative, and comic strip texts.
• A rich variety of visual materials, both to overcome lexical difficulties and to develop learners’ general knowledge.
• Systematic lessons and exercises focused on written text production to help learners recognize and compose different types of texts.
• A rich vocabulary presented both in the texts and in the systematic vocabulary lessons and vocabulary sections at the end of each theme.

The Tremplin vers le français collection comprises three components: a reading textbook and two exercise workbooks.

Grade 6 Reading Textbook

This reading book from the Tremplin vers le français collection contains 6 units. Each unit comprises 2 themes and covers 5 weeks of work: 4 weeks of learning followed by a consolidation week included in the activity workbook.

Weeks 16 and 32 provide a mid-year assessment and an end-of-year assessment.

Each theme is designed to be covered over 2 weeks.

• The first week of each theme includes:
  • A communication and language functions page featuring a listening text and a role-play activity.
  • A reading comprehension text.
  • Two pages devoted to a grammar lesson with exercises.
  • A vocabulary and lexical skills page.
  • A written production page.

• The second week of each theme includes:
  • A communication and language functions page featuring visual documents and texts followed by questions, as well as a role-play activity.
  • A reading comprehension text.
  • A page devoted to a conjugation lesson with exercises.
  • A page devoted to a spelling lesson with exercises.
  • A reading and recitation page, with an introduction to versification.
  • A written production page.

Finally, the first page of each textbook includes a QR code. Children can thus listen to:

• Role-play activities.
