Description
Grade 3 Math – Arc-en-ciel
The Grade 3 Method Presentation
This Grade 3 math book from the “Arc-en-ciel” collection extends the knowledge acquired in previous grades. All the concepts learned are reviewed in this textbook, including counting, calculating and identifying geometric shapes. This review enables students to go over what they may have forgotten during the summer. It also provides them with a solid foundation to learn to calculate, think critically, and analyze. This math book prioritizes children’s ability to synthesize information, to observe, and to logically reason.
Grade 3 Math Book
Each chapter of this Grade 3 “Arc-en-ciel” math book begins with a colored frame. Every color defines a type of activity and presents the learning objective. This presentation is very brief, aiming to give children the opportunity to observe a mathematical fact.
Right after, practice exercises are ranked from easiest to hardest. These exercises are often supported by illustrations that provide a visual depiction of the exercises, thus facilitating comprehension.
Many of these exercises are “math problems” through which the child will learn to adopt a logical approach, always the same:
- First, analyze the information provided in the instructions.
- Then, understand what is being asked.
- Third, write an equation and calculate.
- Ultimately, answer the question asked in the instructions.
Finally, evaluation sheets regularly assess student’s progress. They also provide an opportunity to go over the concepts that need to be reviewed.
