This Grade 2 grammar workbook is part of the “Arc-en-ciel” collection.
“Arc-en-ciel” for Grade 2 is an extension of our methods from previous grades. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices are thus reframed and extended. Our teaching methods emphasize oral expression. The latter is indeed the basis for learning to read and write.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 2 is based on the following methodological principles:
- Priority given to oral expression.
- Short, interesting, and illustrated reading texts: introduction of narrative, informative, injunctive, and descriptive texts.
- Illustrative supports in the margin of the texts explain difficult words.
- Activities ensure effective learning of oral and written French. These activities also stimulate critical thinking and creativity
- Motivating and interactive learning tools and materials engage students in the learning process.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 2 is a comprehensive method to learn French. It comprises the following four components: a reading textbook, an expression workbook, a grammar workbook, and a writing copybook. This collection also comes with 9 storybooks.

This grammar workbook provides 17 grammar lessons, 17 conjugation lessons, and 17 spelling lessons. These lessons revolve around:
- Learning grammatical concepts and rules.
- Practicing the re-use of rules through numerous exercises.
- Perfecting the language by reflecting on how it works.
