Description
Grade 1 Reading Textbook – Tremplin vers le français
Grade 1 Method Presentation
This Grade 1 reading textbook is part of the “Tremplin vers le français” collection.
The “Tremplin vers le français” collection is a comprehensive method of learning French. It covers all Elementary classes. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices learned in Kindergarten are reframed and extended. This textbook is then a detailed review of the lessons studied in KG3.
“Tremplin vers le français” for Grade 1 is based on the following methodological principles:
- Priority given to oral comprehension and expression through various pedagogical material and numerous re-use, impregnation, fixation and lexical enrichment exercises.
- An abundance of illustrations: attractive and colorful images strengthen comprehension and encourage oral expression.
- Children’s active participation: the roleplays and dramatization, the pedagogical materials… will make the lesson more interactive. Psychopedagogical relations thus bloom and learning becomes more effective.
- Syllabic reading method, which allows for an easy and logical progression, from the simplest to the more complex. Children first learn to read individual letters, then syllables, words, sentences, and a full text.
- Regular assessments throughout the year. The fifth week of each unit as well as the mid-year and end-of-year assessment sheets are exclusively dedicated to this review.
The “Tremplin vers le français” collection comprises the following four components: a reading textbook, two exercise workbooks, and a writing copybook.
Grade 1 Reading Textbook
This textbook from the “Tremplin vers le français” collection is divided into 6 units and 12 themes. Each unit is split into 2 themes that spread over four weeks of learning. A fifth week is dedicated to assess the acquisitions. Every learning week includes:
- Two pages devoted to oral expression and largely inspired by the stories used to motivate and present the theme’s vocabulary.
- Two other pages include reading lessons.
We can also find songs and poems at the end of each theme.
Finally, a QR code is printed on the first page of each textbook. Children can thus listen to:
- Songs and rhymes with lyrics that can be found in the book.
- Storybooks with sound effects.
- Role-play activities.
