Description
French as a Foreign Language – Le Nouveau Français Plus 3 Student’s Book
Method Presentation
Le Nouveau Français Plus 3 follows Le Nouveau Français Plus 2 and is part of a comprehensive method for learning spoken and written French as a foreign language (FLE). It is intended for elementary school students whose first language is not French.
Focused on motivation and the pleasure of learning, the Le Nouveau Français Plus method helps students progressively develop the skills on which language learning is based.
This textbook from the Le Nouveau Français Plus collection includes two components: the student’s book and the workbook.
Le Nouveau Français Plus 3 – Student’s Book
The student’s book includes:
A) Ten lessons
These lessons focus on listening comprehension and oral expression, since oral communication forms the foundation of the method.
Each lesson is organized in six stages:
- First, an introduction presented as a comic strip, which the student observes while listening to a short recorded dialogue.
- Next, a replay of the dialogue, which the student reads using the recorded phonetic model as a reference.
- Then, a presentation of speaking situations and vocabulary under the section “Phrases for Speaking.” In this stage, audio recordings and illustrations support clear understanding and accurate intonation.
- After that, oral expression exercises allow students to reuse the vocabulary and structures already introduced.
- In addition, a short phonics session reinforces pronunciation.
- Finally, a grammar frame appears at the end of each lesson.
- B) Activity sequences
Each series of lessons is followed by an activity sequence including:
- A full-page illustration that encourages students to mobilize their knowledge through free oral expression.
- A short poem and a song.
A page entitled “I Do and I Speak,” which proposes a project to be completed individually or in groups, helping students connect their French learning with their everyday lives.
Finally, students also have access to QR codes integrated into the textbook, allowing them to listen to:
- Dialogues
- Songs
- Phonics activities
