Description
French as a Foreign Language – Le Nouveau Français Plus 2 Student’s Book
Method Presentation
Le Nouveau Français Plus 2 completes Le Nouveau Français Plus 1 and forms part of a comprehensive method for learning French as a foreign language (FLE). It is intended for students whose first language is not French.
This book is designed for elementary school students. It offers an active and dynamic approach to learning spoken and written French. In addition, the method emphasizes motivation and the pleasure of learning. As a result, the Français Plus method helps students progressively develop the skills required to acquire the language.
This textbook from the Le Nouveau Français Plus collection includes two components: the student’s book and the workbook.
Le Nouveau Français Plus 2 – Student’s Book
The student’s book includes:
A) Fourteen lessons
These lessons focus on listening comprehension and oral expression, as oral communication forms the foundation of the method.
Each lesson is organized in six stages:
- First, an introduction presented as a comic strip or an image, which the child observes while listening to a short recorded dialogue.
- Next, a replay of the dialogue, which the child reads using the recorded phonetic model as a reference.
- Then, a presentation of speaking situations and vocabulary. The illustrations and audio support help ensure clear understanding and accurate intonation.
- After that, oral exercises allow students to practice the structures and vocabulary already introduced.
- In addition, a short phonics session reinforces pronunciation.
- Finally, a grammar frame appears at the end of each lesson.
B) Complementary activities
Moreover, every set of three lessons is followed by activities including:
- A poster reviewing all the vocabulary from the three previous lessons.
- Additionally, a short poem.
- As well as, a song.
- Finally, a project to be completed individually or in groups (photo–drawing–text collages, crafts, cooking recipes, etc.).
These activities help children connect their French learning with their everyday lives, which strengthens understanding and engagement.
Finally, students also have access to QR codes integrated into the textbook, allowing them to listen to:
- Dialogues
- Songs
- Phonics activities
