This Grade 4 expression workbook is part of the “Arc-en-ciel” collection.
“Arc-en-ciel” for Grade 4 is an extension of our methods from previous grades. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices are thus reframed and extended. Our teaching methods emphasize oral expression. The latter is indeed the basis for learning to read and write.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 4 is based on the following methodological principles:
- Priority given to oral expression.
- Short, interesting, and illustrated reading texts: narrative, informative, injunctive, and descriptive texts.
- Illustrative supports in the margin of the texts explain difficult words.
- Linguistic, grammar, general knowledge, and artistic activities ensure effective learning of oral and written French. These activities also stimulate critical thinking and creativity.
- Phonics activities.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 4 is a comprehensive method to learn French. It comprises the following three components: a reading textbook, an expression workbook, and a grammar workbook.
Grade 4 Expression Workbook
This expression workbook is an extension of the reading textbook. It is divided into 27 units and provides exercises focused on:
- Oral and written comprehension.
- Phonics, with an emphasis on phonemes and graphemes.
- Vocabulary development.
- Written expression: exercises on the composition of words, sentences, and paragraphs, as well as the development of structured writing techniques.
- Evaluation sheets to assess students’ progress.
