Description
French as a Foreign Language – Français Plus 3 Student’s Book
Method Presentation
The Français Plus 3 textbook is the sixth book in the Français Plus collection. This collection provides a comprehensive method for learning French as a foreign language (FLE) and is intended for students whose first language is not French.
The Français Plus 3 book is designed for elementary school students. It offers an active and dynamic approach to learning spoken and written French. In addition, the method emphasizes motivation and the pleasure of learning. As a result, students progressively develop the skills required to acquire the language.
To facilitate learning, each textbook in the Français Plus method integrates and reinforces the syntax, vocabulary, and grammar introduced in the previous levels.
This textbook from the Français Plus collection includes two components: the student’s book and the workbook.
Français Plus 3 – Student’s Book
The Français Plus 3 student’s book includes:
A) Ten lessons
These lessons focus on listening comprehension and oral expression, as oral communication forms the foundation of the method.
Each lesson is structured in seven stages:
- First, an introduction presented as a comic strip, which the child observes while listening to a short recorded dialogue.
- Next, a replay of the dialogue, which the child reads using the recorded phonetic model as a reference.
- Then, a presentation of speaking situations and vocabulary. The richness and precision of the illustrations help students understand the dialogue and reproduce accurate intonation.
- After that, a review of vocabulary from Français Plus 1 and Français Plus 2, together with the introduction of new words.
- In addition, oral exercises allow students to practice the structures and vocabulary already presented.
- Following this, a short phonics session reinforces pronunciation.
- Finally, a grammar summary appears at the end of each lesson.
B) Activity pages
This textbook also includes activity pages featuring:
- Poems
- Songs
- A project to be completed individually or in groups (photo–drawing–text collages, crafts, cooking recipes, etc.)
These activities help children connect their French learning with their everyday lives, which supports understanding and engagement.
