“Arc-en-ciel” for Grade 6 is an extension of our methods from previous grades. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices are thus reframed and extended. Our teaching methods emphasize oral expression. The latter is indeed the basis for learning to read and write.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 6 is based on the following methodological principles:
- Priority given to oral expression.
- Interesting and illustrated reading texts: narrative, informative, injunctive, and descriptive texts.
- Illustrative supports and definitions in the margins of the texts to explain difficult words.
- Linguistic, grammatical, general knowledge, and artistic activities that ensure effective learning of oral and written French. These activities also stimulate critical thinking and creativity.
- Phonics activities.
- Written expression techniques.
The “Arc-en-ciel” collection for Grade 6 is a comprehensive method for learning French. It comprises the following four components: a reading textbook, two expression workbooks, and a grammar workbook.
