It builds on the methods developed in previous grades. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices are thus reviewed and extended. Our teaching methods emphasize oral expression, which forms the foundation for learning to read and write.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u201cLa Bo\u00eete aux Lettres\u201d collection for Grade 2 is based on the following methodological principles:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Priority given to oral expression through a variety of structured oral activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Short, engaging, and illustrated narrative texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development of reading skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduction to the internal organization of texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initial exposure to injunctive, prescriptive, and informative texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Illustrative supports placed in the margins of the texts to clarify difficult words.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong emphasis on vocabulary development through varied activities in each unit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exercises that encourage world discovery and reflection.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The \u201cLa Bo\u00eete aux Lettres\u201d collection for this Grade comprises the following four components: a reading textbook, an <a href=\"https:\/\/kedemoseducation.com\/en\/produit\/grade-2-expression-workbook-bal\/\">expression workbook<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/kedemoseducation.com\/en\/produit\/grade-2-grammar-workbook-bal\/\">grammar workbook<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/kedemoseducation.com\/en\/produit\/grade-2-writing-copybook-bal\/\">writing copybook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Grade 2 Reading Textbook<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Grade 2 reading textbook of the \u201cLa Bo\u00eete aux Lettres\u201d collection is divided into 10 themes. Each theme includes two units.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A) Each unit presents three activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two pages are devoted to oral expression. The activities proposed here precede and extend the reading text.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two other pages presenting a reading text, accompanied by illustrations that clarify difficult words. This section also includes questions and activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A phonics section allowing for the review of phonemes and graphemes learned in Grade 1.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>B) Four additional activities are presented alternately:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A vocabulary lesson introducing word families, synonyms, homonyms, and more.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An injunctive or informative text, followed by a fun or trivia-based activity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An illustration encouraging the reuse of vocabulary and structures related to the theme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A world discovery documentary text.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, each theme concludes with a song and poems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, a QR code is printed on the first page of the textbook.
