The exercise workbook 2 of the “La Boîte aux Lettres” collection for Grade 1 is based on the syllabic method of reading. Along with the exercise workbook 1, they provide a simple and logical progression of phonemes and graphemes. From the simplest to the most complex, we start from the letter to the syllable, the word, the sentence, and the text.

This book is an extension of our methods for KG2 and KG3. The spirit, content, and pedagogical practices are reframed and extended. Our teaching methods emphasize oral expression. The latter is indeed the basis for learning to read and write.

“La Boîte aux Lettres” for Grade 1 is a comprehensive method for learning French. It comprises the following components: a reading textbook, two exercise workbooks, and a writing copybook. Additionally, this method comes with 10 storybooks.

Workbook Grade 1

This exercise workbook 2 and the exercise workbook 1 that accompany this method for Grade 1 focus on developing oral comprehension and expression, as well as written comprehension and expression. They include a variety of exercises, including vocabulary and phraseology. Evaluation pages are also provided to measure students’ progress.
